Considering the lineup changes after Jack Hannahan and Carlos Santana were placed on the MLB Disabled List and Asdrubal Cabrera and Travis Hafner day to day with injuries, it’s no surprise that the buzz around the Cleveland Indians is all about the Tribe depth chart.

In Monday’s win against the Kansas City Royals, Jose Lopez, Lonnie Chisenhall, Luke Carlin, and Juan Diaz were in the lineup and produced. They combined to go 7-16 (.437) with 4 RBI (3 by Lopez and a HR from Chisenhall) and scored 3 runs. But the Tribe didn’t fare that well over the weekend while getting swept by the Detroit Tigers.

Some day Grady Sizemore will come back and we’ll argue about his place on the team. Some day Carlos Santana will be back from his concussion, Asdrubal will be 100%, and the Indians will finally figure out what to do with their third basemen.

Until then, the only question I have right now is whether or not the Indians will stay in first place throughout June. If the Tribe can weather this storm and hold thier position through the next month, the outlook for the playoffs is pretty good once we get healthy again.
